The Ferrari 360 Spider is a two-seater, mid-engine, rear wheel drive sports car manufactured by Ferrari from 1999 to 2005 and was first introduced at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. This 2004 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 is finished in Blu Pozzi over Cuoio Daytona-style seats, blue convertible canvas, modular wheels, Scuderia shields and is accompanied by the tool kit, tire inflator kit, two keys and all 3 immobilizer fobs.

Ferrari produced the 360 in three different models; the Modena, Spider and the Challenge Stradale. The first model produced was the Modena a hard-top or coupe, then the Spider which is was the convertible and the Challenge Stradale—a high-performance road-legal version featuring carbon ceramic brakes, track-tuned suspension, aerodynamic gains, weight reduction, power improvements and revised gearbox with track-focused software. Yes we said software!

This machine is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6L V8 engine (F131) producing just under 400hp which seems a little low until you realize that Ferrari produce it with an entirely new all-aluminum frame chassis that was 40% stiffer and 28% lighter despite a 10% increase in overall dimensions. It has a 6-speed transmission that was either manual (gated) or the F1 automated transmission (paddle shifters) which is present on this car.

These number are usually best estimates but it’s believed the Ferrari produced around 8,800 Modenas and 7,565 Spiders worldwide, making it one of the most produced Ferrari’s ever. There were 4,199 built for the US market—1,810 Modenas (coupes) and 2,389 Spiders (convertibles). Of those numbers, there were only 469 Modenas and 670 Spiders that were produced with a gated 6-speed manual transmission as opposed to the F1 single-clutch automated manual transmission.

Since removing the roof of a coupe reduces the torsional rigidity, Ferrari designers strengthened the sills, stiffened the front of the floorpan and redesigned the windscreen frame. The rear bulkhead had to be stiffened to cut out engine noise from the cabin. They also added side reinforcements, a cross brace in front of the engine and roll bars.

This was also the start of Ferrari letting the customer customize their car straight from the factory. Some options include fender badges, wheel packages, interior/ and seat, making it feel more like your own creation.

This car is truly a drivers car and much more road friendly than its predecessor the Ferrari F355. With the comfort first interior design and ice cold air conditioning this may be considered the start of the modern Ferrari.
