Metro Motorcar Club and Big Green Egg were a hit on BBQ Day

Metro Motorcar Club at the Big Green Egg for Georgia BBQ Day
Metro Motorcar Club had the opportunity to showcase their vehicles at the Big Green Egg in Doraville, GA, as part of the inaugural Georgia BBQ Day.

The Metro Motorcar Club, formerly the Dunwoody Driving Club, is a group of automotive enthusiasts in the Atlanta area who share a passion for vintage, classic, and exotic cars. They recently had the opportunity to showcase their beloved vehicles at the Big Green Egg Headquarters located in Doraville, GA, as part of the inaugural Georgia BBQ Day.

The Big Green Egg is a popular brand of ceramic kamado-style charcoal grills renowned for their versatility and high-quality construction. The company’s headquarters in Atlanta features a state-of-the-art retail and culinary center where they celebrated Governor Kemp\’s newly signed Georgia BBQ Day proclamation.

On the day of the event, the Metro Motorcar Club arrived early in the morning to set up their cars and get them ready for display. As visitors began to arrive, they were treated to a stunning array of vintage automobiles, including classic muscle cars, luxury sports cars and a 2011 GT3 RS (997.2) from Merit Partners

Even the Big Green Egg\’s next door neighbor Buy-A-Vette brought over a car – must have smelled the food! The cars were arranged in the parking spaces outside the retail and culinary center under the bright Georgia sun. It was a beautiful day for a car show.

Throughout the day, the aroma of delicious barbeque filled the air as Chef Guy and his support staff showed off their skills on the Big Green Egg grills. Visitors were able to sample a variety of delicious barbeque dishes, from classic pulled pork, brisket, pork belly bites, and chicken wings. We heard from Ed Reilly, the man who started Georgia BBQ Day and got Governor Kemp\’s signature on the proclamation just a few weeks back.

Georgia BBQ Day

Georgia BBQ Day is about getting out and grilling, but it also showcases local vendors like Anderby Brewing, Lane\’s BBQ, Pine Street Market, and #BGETeamGreen Influencer Tina Cannon, who handed out free samples of their products. There were even games for the kids and giveaways for the crowd. When you visit the Big Green Egg headquarters on a Saturday, you never know what you\’ll find!

As the day continued, the Metro Motorcar Club members mingled with visitors, sharing stories about their cars and answering questions about their favorite hobby. They were thrilled to see so many people who shared their passion for classic cars and barbecues, including local NASCAR and IMSA driver Bill Lester, who came by to take it all in.
