If you’re the type who appreciates the finer things—sleek supercars, smooth bourbon, and the satisfying aroma of a premium cigar—here’s your next must-try.
The highly anticipated Macanudo Gold Label is back, and this time it’s rolling in with a new shape: a limited-edition 6 ½ x 52 torpedo. Known for its silky, golden Connecticut Shade wrapper (also called Capa Especial), the Gold Label earns its name from the delicate leaves it’s wrapped in—specifically, the first and second primings of the tobacco plant. These lower leaves receive less direct sunlight, which preserves their natural sugars and results in a smoother, sweeter, and more refined flavor.
Senior brand manager Matt Wilson calls the Gold Label “a fan favorite,” and says the new torpedo shape adds a unique twist to a cigar already known for its mellow, creamy profile. Along with the signature wrapper, the blend features a Mexican San Andrés binder and a mix of Dominican and Mexican fillers—creating a flavor that’s smooth, nuanced, and approachable.
Crafted by hand in the Dominican Republic at General Cigar Dominicana, this year’s Gold Label is priced at $13.29 (pre-tax) and will ship to select retailers starting May 2025. Supplies are limited, and if history is any indicator, they won’t last long.
Whether you’re lighting up after a track day or relaxing in the CC Auto Club lounge, the Macanudo Gold Label Torpedo is an ideal companion for those who know how to savor a moment.
